Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Tasks: Inspect, measure and mark surfaces to be covered. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Measure, cut and fasten underlay and underpadding. Prepare flooring plans and scheduling. Prepare tenders and quotations. Measure, cut and install resilient floor coverings. Prepare and install hardwood floors. Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings. Estimate costs and materials. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Prepare floors for installations. Perform direct glue-down carpet installations. Install resilient stair components (special effects for the visually impaired). Installation specialization: Vinyl or resilient tiles. Vinyl or resilient sheets. Ceramic tiles. Hardwood strip flooring. Hardwood intricate patterns flooring. Flexible PVC sheet goods. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Ability to distinguish between colours.
