Education: Bachelor's degree. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Elementary school. School or educational institution/establishment. Tasks: Instruct in the use of rehabilitative techniques, prosthetic devices and wheelchairs. Assist students to develop life skills. Assess individuals in areas such as physical limitations, orientation and mobility skills, and cognitive, social and emotional barriers to establish client rehabilitation or adaptation goals. Collaborate with specialists to develop programs for clients' special needs. Develop individualized education and intervention plans based on special needs of client to facilitate their readaptation and independence objectives. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Behaviour management Certification. Mental health first aid Certificate. Rehabilitation or Special Education Certificate. Target audience: Children. Persons who are intellectually impaired. Persons with physical disabilities. Persons with learning disabilities. Security and safety: Bondable. Medical exam. Immunization records.
