Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Noisy. Odours. Work setting: Relocation costs not covered by employer. Commercial or in-house printers. In-house printing or binding. Tasks: Prepare production schedules. Fill ink fountains and control colour and viscosity. Plan production methods. Estimate costs. Set up press and operate at slow speed to check samples. Instruct apprentices. Monitor regular press run for quality using computer control console. Remove and clean plates and cylinders at end of press run. Set up and adjust in-line binding and finishing equipment. Review job orders to determine job specifications such as production time, colour sequence and quantities required, and advise press crew of these specifications. Type of press: Web press.
