Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Noisy. Dusty. Tasks: Measure and mark sheet metal according to template. Prepare tenders and quotations. Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal. Operate laser cutters. Utilize computerized quantity take-off. Grind and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces. Calculate heating and cooling loads, design duct systems and select equipment for residential and small commercial construction. Inspect products to ensure quality and conformity to specification. Instruct apprentices. Cut materials using power tools or by hand. Assemble, erect and install hoisting and rigging equipment. Estimate costs and materials. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Fit and join sheet metal parts. Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes.
