Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work setting: Various locations. Tasks: Assist in the calculation, analysis and computation of measurements obtained during field surveys. Keep records, measurements and other survey information in systematic order. Assist survey engineers or professional surveyors to develop methods and procedures for conducting field surveys. Conduct field surveys and operate survey instruments and computer equipment to measure distance, angles, elevations and contours. Prepare detailed drawings, charts and plans and survey notes and reports. Record measurements and other information obtained during field survey activities. Supervise and co-ordinate field survey activities. Prepare or supervise the preparation and compilation of all data and documents related to surveys of real property boundaries. Plan, direct and supervise or conduct surveys to establish legal boundaries of properties. Analyze, manage and display data using geographic information systems and computer-aided design and drafting. Computer-aided design (CAD). Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Computer and technology knowledge: Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment. MS Access. MS Excel. MS Outlook. MS PowerPoint. MS Windows. MS Word.
