Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work setting: Work in employer's/client's home. Group home. Tasks: Assess individuals in areas such as physical limitations, orientation and mobility skills, and cognitive, social and emotional barriers to establish client rehabilitation or adaptation goals. Develop individualized education and intervention plans based on special needs of client to facilitate their readaptation and independence objectives. Assess client's relevant skill strengths and development needs. Resolve conflict situations. Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses. Implement behaviour management programs. Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of treatment programs. Housekeeping activities. Food preparation. Assist clients/guests with special needs. Accompany clients to appointments and social outings. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : CPR Certificate. First Aid Certificate. Target audience: Persons with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI). Security and safety: Criminal record check. Child Abuse Registry check. Driver's validity licence check. Driving record check (abstract). Medical exam. Immunization records. Tuberculosis test. Adult Abuse Registry check. Vulnerable sector check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Own transportation.
