Township of LangleyRecreation Facility Attendant(up to 20)Competition Number: 24-B015Employment Type: AuxiliaryPay Rate: $19.10 per hour (2024 rates) plus 13.5% in lieu of benefitsHours of Work: Non-standard hours and/or non-standard work weeksCompetition Opening Date: April 3, 2024Competition Internal Closing Date: June 30, 2024Competition External Closing Date: June 30, 2024Job OverviewThe Township of Langley is currently recruiting for up to 20 auxiliary Recreation Facility Attendants to join our team of professionals in the Recreation Division. Reporting to the Community Recreation Manager, in this unionized position you will undertake a variety of tasks as it relates to municipal ice arenas and neighbourhood learning centres, including providing guidance, assistance, and administering the conduct of facility users.ResponsibilitiesMonitor the flow of patrons in the facility to ensure operational safety within the designated area and enforce applicable rules and regulations Oversee the conduct of facility users and provide positive and effective customer service Oversee the conduct of patrons during aqua-play sessions, waterslides and arena programs Maintain ticket and cash control, sell admission tickets and rental equipment for the drop-in ice skating program and skate shop Perform minor clerical and recreation facility support duties, including the set up/take-down for scheduled events or activities Prepare reports on injuries or loss/damage of personal or municipal properties Advise the leader of emergencies or changes in activities Perform routine maintenance tasks and other related work as requiredQualificationsCompletion of Grade 10 or equivalent and some related experience Ability to enforce guidelines for the safe operation of the designated and/or gate area within the facility Some knowledge of ice arenas, recreation programs and related activities Ability to provide safe operation of the Facility?s waterslides, ice rink, aqua-play, playgrounds, playing fields and designated pool areas Ability to process registration payments and communicate effectively with internal/external contactsThis position is defined by the Township of Langley as a position of trust (Child Safety). The successful candidate(s) will be required to have a Police Information Check as a condition of employment (not required as part of the application process, however, will be required upon consideration for employment).Required Certifications/LicensesCandidates must have the following valid and current certifications/licenses (must be valid at the time the posting closes) and these must be attached with your application.Emergency First Aid Certification CPR ?C?
