Education: Bachelor's degree. Work site environment: Clean. Work setting: Community or retail pharmacy. Tasks: Order and maintain stock of pharmaceutical supplies. Advise customers on selection and use of non-prescription medication. Check prescriptions for proper dosage. Compound prescribed pharmaceutical products by calculating, measuring and mixing the right quantities of drugs and other ingredients. Maintain medication profiles of customers including registry of poisons and narcotic and controlled drugs. Manage the storage, packaging and distribution of medicinal products . Evaluate labelling, packaging and advertising of drug products. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Certification for drug administration by injection and intranasal route. Pharmacy Examining Boards of Canada Certification. Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Eligible for professional liability insurance.
