With our values of Sense of Community, Inclusiveness, Creativity and Making a Difference as a foundation, Branksome Hall offers a strong liberal arts curriculum that develops critical thinking and inquiry skills. <p>The Opportunity:<p>Reporting to the Executive Director, Enrolment Management, the Director of Boarding is responsible for building a vibrant Boarding community and program which, through the lens of our school values, fosters a globally minded approach that prioritizes student agency, wellbeing and resilience.<p>As a values-driven leader, the Director of Boarding will have a deep understanding of Boarding life and will leverage a strategic and visionary mindset in leading a best-in-class Boarding program. This role, along with their team, is responsible for the care and well-being of Boarding students, ensuring each student is thriving in an integrated academic, co-curricular and Boarding program. <p>This role is responsible for creating and providing stewardship of an empathetic and inclusive culture that enables young people to thrive, exercise agency, and meaningfully contribute to a healthy community. The Director establishes and fosters meaningful connections with the wider community, and provides education around how to best support the needs of the young people in Boarding. The Director establishes Boarding Curriculum best practices based strongly in SEL and DEI concepts, and ensures the lived experience of the community reflects these practices. The Director also acts as a strong partner to the Boarding parent community, and collaborates closely with them as well as other key stakeholders at the school to best serve the needs of their child. Additional Key Accountabilities include: <p> Collaborate with other members of the team and stakeholders at the school to create programming that ensures authentic engagement and experiential opportunities while ensuring enhanced level of care for the Boarding students well-being. This will be done through developing and implementing educational, cultural, social and recreational programming and activities; <p> Communicate effectively with students, guardians and parents, employees and other constituents that incorporates SEL and values driven practices; <p> Lead, mentor and supervise the Boarding team; <p> Collaborate with various departments across the school, including nurses, social workers, learning strategists, counsellors, teachers, etc. to ensure each Boarding student is receiving the holistic support needed to support their growth at the school; <p> As a member of the Field and Student Support Teams, you will work to ensure integration of the day and boarding programs as well as of the academic, co-curricular and Boarding life of the students.Leadership Profile:<p>The successful candidate will possess post-secondary education, preferably at the level, and 8+ years of progressive experience working with adolescents, ideally in a boarding environment. A Bachelor of Education or equivalent would be considered an asset.
