Pre-K Teacher (Term Contract) The Athabasca Denesuline Education Authority (ADEA) is a First Nation Education Authority serving the three Denesuline First Nations communities in northern Saskatchewan; Black Lake First Nation, Hatchet Lake First Nation, and Fond Du Lac First Nation. The Authority serves a total student population of approximately 1,300+ students. The Authority is working toward improved educational outcomes by utilizing the latest technology, progressively piloting programs, and integrating Denesuline culture into the classroom and school curriculum. The ADEA is seeking a competent, confident, motivated individual to fill the position of Pre-K Teacher on a term contract (with the potential of going on a full-time permanent contract) at Father Megret Elementary School (FMES), located in Hatchet Lake, Saskatchewan. In this role, you will provide strong interpersonal skills, commitment to learning and teaching in project-based ways and provide an enthusiastic learning environment for children. FMES is a Pre-K to Grade 5 facility with a student population of 200+, and a strong group of professional and paraprofessional staff.This competition is open to all applicants who reside in Canada; and preference will be given to First Nation or other Indigenous applicants who possess the qualifications, knowledge, and skills to meet the minimum suitability requirements as stated for the position.What We Offer: We offer paid time off such as professional development and non-instructional days, and sick days, benefits that include vision, dental, massage, acupuncture, etc., the companys registered pension plan benefit, and northern allowance. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities Be aware of any allergys children may have. <p> Establish clear instructional direction to support a positive learning climate in the context of the Denesuline culture and language.<p> Offer children the opportunity to interact with peers and learn social skills, learn school routines, and build a strong foundation for further success in school. <p> Plan and organize materials ahead of time so when the children arrive, the room and the Educators are ready to engage with children. <p> Provide positive ways for family engagement for learning success and provide a welcoming space that draws parents into the classroom. <p> Assess and document student learning daily.<p> Assist children with self-care (i.e. dressing, diapering, feeding)<p> Usage of provided device daily while students are not in the room for communications and the documentation of student observation process.<p> Cleaning protocols such as: all centre and tabletop materials that are reusable are to be cleaned following the covid protocols, and all dishes and utensils are to be washed and sanitized before leaving school for the day. <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must be patient, flexible, observant, and passionate. <p> Must have communications skills such as: verbal and nonverbal, active listening, and empathy. <p> To follow the provincial Ministry of Education curricula and focuses on holistic child development including the social-emotional, physical, intellectual, and spiritual domains. <p>Qualifications: A recognized post-secondary certification: Formal Early Childhood Education (ECE Level 1, 2, or 3) certification. <p> Minimum of one year experience working with children. <p> Experience in teaching First Nations students at a remote community would be an asset.<p> First Aid Certification would be an asset (we pay provide training upon hire). <p> Must have strong understanding of the following programs and assessments: Play and E
