Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Health care institution, facility or clinic. Rural area. Tasks: Advise patients on drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs. Ensure infection control. Advise patients on health care. Examine patients and take their medical histories and consult with physicians and other medical practitioners to evaluate patients' physical and mental health. Conduct patient interviews, physical assessments and take medical histories. Inoculate and vaccinate patients to prevent and treat diseases. Perform and assist in routine surgery. Provide health maintenance education. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Licensure as a Nurse Practitioner by the province/territory of work.
