<b>ROLE SUMMARY </b>: <span><span><span>This person will form a key part of the Cégep Heritage College Men?s Basketball program and part of the entire athletic programming team reporting directly to the Coordinator or Student Services. The principal and customary work of this employee consists in directing the energies of Heritage student athletes and developing a dynamic training program. Furthermore, the Head Coach will be responsible for supervising and stewarding students during games to ensure representation that is in line with the directives of the college.</span></span></span><br><br><b>DUTIES</b>: <span><span><span>Performing all coaching and program management duties consistent with the operation of a successful intercollegiate sport program, including:</span></span><ul> <li><span><span>Participates in the recruitment of potential student-athletes.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Designs and follows an annual training schedule.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Recruit its coaching staff and delegate tasks to them.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Recruitment of players for the following season.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Coach all the practices and games (3-5 hours of weekly practice).</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Ensures an academic follow up with each student-athlete and promotes academic excellence within the team.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Represents Cégep Heritage College and promotes its programs (athletic and academic level).</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Adheres to the Ethique Sportive coaching values of the RSEQ and the Cégep Heritage College.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Follows the directions of the Director of Student Services and the Coordinator of Student Services regarding team or player particular issues.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Follows the direction of the Student Life Advisor and the Recreation Technician regarding team or player specific issues.</span></span></li></ul></span><br><br><b>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED</b>: <span><ul> <li><span><span>Minimum of a NCCP Train to Compete level (Old level 2 certification completed)</span></span></li> <li><span><span>A minimum of 2 years Flag Football coaching experience with RSEQ, club, provincial, or national team programs</span></span></li> <li><span><span>A good knowledge of English is essential (written, spoken and comprehension) and functional French is required.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Must possess excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Must be diligent, dynamic, creative and detail oriented.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and have the ability to work as part of a team.</span></span></li> <li><span><span>A Police background check will be conducted prior to the hiring of the selected candidate.</span></span></li></ul></span><br><br><b>ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS</b>: <span><ul></ul></span><br><br><b>SALARY RANGE (PER HOUR)</b>: <span> - </span><br><br><b>SPECIFIC SECTION</b>: <span></span><br><br> <br> <ul></ul>
