As one part of this comprehensive program, all staff as well as their dependents have access to free and confidential supports through our Employee and Family Assistance Provider (EFAP), in addition to many other program components.About the Role <p>Reporting to the Lead Supervisor of Energy and Safe Environment, the incumbent will perform inspection, maintenance, and repair on the Boards heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment and associated controls.Duties include, but are not limited to: Works<p> independently to complete assigned work efficiently and economically<p> ensuring compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act<p> relevant regulations/building codes and Board policies/procedures. This<p> includes, but is not limited to: Detailed troubleshooting and investigation of concerns<p> Provision of estimates of time and materials for work projects assigned<p> Wearing personal protective equipment<p> Working from heights<p> Working in restricted areas (confined space/regulated substances) Perform preventative maintenance at assigned buildings<p> Ensure<p> that all HVAC equipment is operating to regulations and standards,<p> analyze the efficiencies of existing HVAC systems to maximize energy<p> savings<p> Assist in response and investigation of occupant indoor environment concerns<p> Maintain accurate HVAC equipment information incorporating additions, deletions and modifications to facilities HVAC systems<p> Assist in providing inspection, commissioning, operational verification and acceptance for new school HVAC systems and equipment<p> Assume a leadership role working with helpers, staff, and contractors<p> Off-hours response to emergency and routine calls relating to HVAC systems<p> Other duties as assigned<p>QUALIFICATIONS: Possession of a Valid TSSA G1 Gas Technician Certificate issued in the Province of Ontario.<p> Experience<p> with related equipment such as building automation controls (Johnson<p> Controls Metasys, Siemens Insight and Convergint SchneiderElectric<p> Struxureware preferred), air handling units, variable speed drives,<p> boilers heat recovery equipment and feed water systems, motor control<p> equipment and general electrical distribution systems, chillers,<p> variable refrigerant flow systems, heat pumps, fan coil units, cooling<p> towers, humidifiers, pneumatic controls.<p> 3 to 5 years of building HVAC maintenance experienc
