Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work setting: General office. Traffic controlling. Tasks: Assist in developing engineering specifications and drawings. Participate in field surveys, inspections or technical investigations. Prepare construction specifications, costs and material estimates. Prepare engineering designs and drawings. Prepare project schedules. Supervise or conduct field surveys, inspections, technical investigations and testing of construction materials. Administer contracts for the provision of supplies and services. Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems. Ensure that construction permits are obtained. Collect and record data. Co-ordinate project. Prepare reports. Professionalism in customer service.
