Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work setting: Urban area. Office of health care professional. Medical clinic. Pharmacy or drugstore. Tasks: Ensure the information on prescriptions is accurate. Enter client information in databases. Help pharmacists. Maintain inventories of medications and pharmaceutical products. Maintain prescription records . Prepare medications for clients. Set up and dismantle equipment. Clean and maintain equipment. Compound, package and label pharmaceutical products. Help with scheduling and workflow. Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies. Bill third party insurers. Compound oral solutions, ointments and creams. Maintain inventories of medications and prescription records of pharmaceutical products. Process claims such as health insurance or workers compensation. Maintain supplies. Interpret physician's specification. Perform general clerical duties. Manage routine office functions including reception, telephone and booking appointments. Organize and maintain inventory. Schedule and confirm appointments. Operate computerized inventory record keeping and re-ordering systems. Assist health care professionals. Computer and technology knowledge: Kroll Software. MS Excel. MS Office. MS PowerPoint.
