Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Relocation costs not covered by employer. Tasks: Operate and set up machines to perform repetitive machining operations. Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers). Perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery. Enter codes specifying speed, feed and cut of the toolpath for computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools. Clean and maintain work space. Program CNC machine tools. Specialized machining processes: Plasma ARC. Mining equipment: Cutting machine. Equipment and machinery experience: Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Area of work experience: Fabrication. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Excellent oral communication. Reliability. Ability to multitask.
