Education: Bachelor's degree. Neuroscience. Physician assistant. Perioperative/operating room and surgical nurse/nursing. Emergency room/trauma nurse/nursing. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Hospital/medical facility or clinic. Neurology and neuro-surgery. Tasks: Collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary health team. Evaluate patient care and progress. Evaluate the effectiveness of counselling and the patient's outcomes. Examine the results of the tests. Interpret medical test results . Monitor patients and advise physician of any changes in patients' condition. Diagnose patients' diseases and disorders. Ensure infection control. Advise patients on health care. Conduct patient interviews, physical assessments and take medical histories. Perform and assist in routine surgery. Assess extent of injuries or illness of trauma victims to determine emergency medical treatment. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate. Computer and technology knowledge: Electronic medical records. MS Outlook. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently. Hand-eye co-ordination. Manual dexterity. Work under pressure. Attention to detail. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Tight deadlines. Repetitive tasks. Fast-paced environment.
