Education: College/CEGEP. Other Languages: Chinese. Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): First Aid Certificate. CPR Certificate. Experience: 1 to less than 7 months. Work Setting: Nursing home/home for the aged. Specific Skills: Administer suppositories, colonic irrigations and enemas. Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher. Take patients' blood pressure, temperature and pulse. Supervise patients' exercise routines. Prepare patients for surgery by washing, shaving and sterilizing operative areas. Collect specimens. Bathe, dress and groom patients. Answer call signals. Weigh, lift, turn and position patients. Administer first aid in emergency situations. Accompany patients on outside recreational activities and perform other duties related to patient care and comfort. Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Repetitive tasks. Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling.
