    The Government of Canada is investing more than $345M to modernize three key roadways in Greater Montréal. The project involves the extension of Autoroute 19, the renovation of the Pont Pie-IX bridge between Montréal and Laval, and the construction of a reserved lane.
    The Société québécoise du cannabis (SQDC) will soon be opening three additional outlets in the province in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, Granby and Montréal
    The Commission scolaire de Montréal (SCDM) announced the creation of 275 new positions for the 2019-2020 school year. It is seeking candidates for professional, support and management positions.
    Bureau en gros-Staples Canada, an office supply retailer, will be holding a one-day job fair on June 1 in all 305 of its stores across Canada. The company is looking to fill 1,000 positions in its stores and distribution centres.
    Drakkar and Wiptec will be investing $150M to open an order distribution centre in Montréal resulting in the need to hire 1,000 people. No details were provided on the opening date or location.
    Real estate promoter Devimco announced construction of a 33-storey residential tower in Montréal to be known as MAA Condominiums & Penthouses. The cost of the project is estimated at $150M, with delivery planned for 2022.
    Velan, a company specializing in industrial fittings, is cutting 65 positions at its Montréal plant. The date of the layoffs is not known.

    L'Appui, a non-profit organization for caregivers, is investing $50M over three years to provide support across the province through its 17 affiliated organizations
    Empire Company Limited, in partnership with FPI Crombie, is announcing an online grocery service with its Voilà par IGA brand. An order-processing centre is expected to open in Montréal (Pointe-Claire) in 2021, creating 1,500 jobs.
    Pavex, a paving company in Saint-Félicien, has been awarded a $20M contract to repair the runway at the Kuujjuaq airport. The work will begin in the summer, and some 30 workers, including 10 from Kuujjuaq, will be involved.

    Real estate construction company Broccolini has announced the start of construction on the tallest residential tower in Montréal, Victoria sur le Parc. If all goes according to plan, the 58-storey building will be complete in 2023.
    Square Enix, a designer of immersive mobile and online games, has announced the expansion of its Eidos-Montréal and Square Enix offices, as well as the purchase of equipment and the creation of about 100 positions at its studios
    The City of Montréal has announced a major renovation project at City Hall. The three-year, nearly $43M project will be completed in two phases.

    TradingScreen, a US company specializing in financial asset transaction management, is opening an office in Montréal. About 15 IT developer positions will be created within the year, and about 40 more will be created in three years.
